If you are already feeding another kitten food and wish to change to Hill’s Science Plan ^™ kitten food, the transition is best made over a 7 day period. Each day decrease the proportion of the food currently being fed and replace it with an equivalent amount of the Hill’s food, until at the end of a week only the Hill’s Science Plan ^™ kitten food is being fed, in the recommended amount.

It is usually possible to feed kittens free choice (i.e. to leave dry food available in a dish) without them overeating; alternatively food can be given as a number of separate meals each day.
